GEORGE AND KAHU WHAREHOKA

George and his younger brother Kahu, celebrate their first and second placings in the 1951 edition of the 100 mile Round the Mountain Classic.
Kahu who still at school at the time was instructed by his brother to attack towards the end of the race. When George saw that Kahu was safe in his win, he sprinted the field for second place.
Kahu Wharehoka, like his brother, where happier on the track.
George sprints Malcolm Simpson to the line in the 1956(?) 3 mile NZ Championship.
